Loose Buttons + 10 names of Indie Pop you should follow in 2024

This is, in fact, the true story of seeing Don Draper in swim trunks last summer; but simultaneously it uses the experience to explore the pitfalls and illusions of chasing “perfection“. As a #1 Mad Men fan, I couldn’t help but burst out laughing when I first heard the Loose Buttons track (bellow) and explanation. In addition to being experienced musicians, the guys are great chroniclers.

And this Indie Pop list is very much about that: laughing and having a good time. I hope you enjoy this formula with our selections!

Loose Buttons

A four-piece of lifelong New Yorkers, Loose Buttons have been praised for their “Ultra-catchy downtown rock n’ roll” by Stereogum and “Sun-dappled garage sound” by The Fader. Recent shows include a sold-out Webster Hall, multiple headlining nights at Baby’s All Right, and a full-capacity east coast tour. The band is fronted by Eric Nizgretsky – a first-generation Ukrainian-American with Kyiv roots – and together they’ve spent much of the past year organizing a series of benefit shows to help those wounded and displaced in the country.
